3 killed, 30 injured after bus hits truck in Gujarat’s Banaskantha

Two bus passengers and their drivers were killed and nearly 30 others injured when their vehicle hit a truck near the town of Palanpur in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district on Sunday, police said.

The accident occurred at 03:00 when the private luxury bus was on its way from Ramsin in neighboring Rajasthan to Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

While the truck driver was trying to park his vehicle at a roadside on a highway near the village of Kanodar, about 150 km from Ahmedabad, the bus hit it from behind, said an official from Palanpur police station.

Two bus passengers and their driver died on the spot. The deceased were in the age group 35 to 40 years, he said.

About 30 bus passengers were injured and were rushed to the civilian hospital in Palanpur where they underwent treatment, the official said.
