Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Andre Russell has passed 2,000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday. He accomplished this feat during his team’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at MCA Stadium in Pune. During the match, he played a solid undefeated knock of 49 * on 28 balls, which included 3 fours and 4 sixes. Russell has had a stable IPL season so far, making 330 runs on 11 innings to an average of 41.25. His individual best score is 70 *.

He has done half a century in the tournament so far.

On the way to the match, a 63-run stand between Sam Billings (34) and Andre Russell drove the Kolkata Knight Riders to a solid 177/6 on their 20 overs here at the MCA Stadium in Pune last Saturday.


It was a stable day for KKR with the bat, as everyone chipped in useful contributions that took the side to a solid point. Umran Malik was the choice of bowler for SRH, and again impressed with three scalps in his kitten.

Russell then also played with the ball and took three wickets when SRH was limited to 123/8 when KKR registered a decisive victory with 54 runs.
