In a recent interview, Babil revealed how he approached a sick Irrfan in his room late at night and asked him, “Why did you not come for my play when I was little?” Irrfan looked at him and asked him back, “Are you still stuck for it?”

Babil shared the incident with GQ in an interview and revealed how he came back to his room with tears in his eyes. Irrfan, who could not walk due to his condition, peeked out of his room a few minutes later and said with trembling lips: “I’m sorry.”

In the same interview, Babil has admitted that he is privileged because he is the son of an actor. “I’m grateful for the opportunities I know others will not have as easy as I have. If I can not use my privilege and motivate it through my craft, it would be a waste,” he said.

Babil will now make his film debut with Qala. Directed by Anvitaa Dutt, the film will feature Tripti Dimri from Bulbbul as the lead role, along with Swastika Mukherjee. The film is produced by Anushka Sharma’s brother Karnesh Sharma’s production house, Clean Slate Filmz.

Babil has also signed on for the OTT project, The Railway Men. He is one of the four protagonists, including R Madhavan, Dibyendu and Kay Kay Menon.
