Spoilers for Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness!

Marvel’s latest film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has got a strong start at the box office. Benedict Cumberbatch and the Elizabeth Olsen actor have been loved by both fans and critics. One thing that has especially captured the fans is the starry cameos in the film. One of the most amazing cameos is at the end of the movie, in the middle of the credit scene. While the character did not present himself, eagle-eyed fans were quick to conclude that she was Clea, a magician associated with Doctor Strange in the series. Charlize herself confirmed this a few days later when she shared photos of the character with a caption, “Meet Clea”.

In a conversation with Vanity Fair, the film’s screenwriter Michael Waldron revealed that Charlize had been given the role in the film even before they had decided on the ending. “I think we cast Charlize before we even knew exactly what we were going to do. Then we decided to close the third eye opening, the bill will be paid for Strange, and you’ll get your Sleepaway Camp-like ending – oh-my-God. -finished, ”he said.

In the series, Clea has been Strange’s protégé and later love interest. Many fans felt that her entry into MCU paves the way for a romance between the two characters. This makes more sense considering that Strange’s MCU love interest Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams) is now married to someone else (at least in a universe).

Speaking about Clea’s future in Strange’s life and MCU as a whole, Michael said: “I was proud to present her as Clea. Clea has been Strange’s counterpart in the series for a long time. She’s a great magician. She’s also his great love; she’s his wife at one point. We had to end his story with Christine Palmer – Rachel McAdam’s character – first, and in the end Strange leaves with this wisdom. He has been able to face his fears and not be afraid of “To love someone or to let someone love him. I think it’s the perfect place for him to be mental to finally meet Clea, who will be a really important figure in his life going forward.”

Directed by Sam Raimi, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is part of Phase 4 of MCU. The film was released in theaters on May 6 and has so far grossed over half a billion dollars on the global box office. This includes a rich draw of over 103 million in India alone.
