Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex trafficking conviction upheld as US judge refuses retrial

Ghislaine Maxwell’s conviction for sex trafficking has been upheld by a US judge.

Her request for a new trial was rejected after a jury member in a TV interview admitted that he had been sexually abused and incorrectly stated before the trial that he had not been.

The court ruled that the jury member still “testified credibly and truthfully”, and “has no bias against Ghislaine Maxwell and could act as a fair and impartial jury member”.
