IPL 2022: Ambati Rayudu Announces IPL Retirement, Deletes Tweet Within Minutes

Ambati Rayudu has made a sudden U-turn regarding his IPL retirement and deletes the tweet moments after the news was announced. This is a second such U-turn from the cricketer who had previously returned from international retirement in the aftermath of his exclusion from the 2019 World Cup.

“I’m happy to announce that this will be my last ipl. I’ve had a wonderful time playing it and been part of two fantastic teams for 13 years. Would love to sincerely thank the Mumbai Indians and Csk for the wonderful trip “The tweet, from now on, has been deleted by the cricketer.

After this news, even his former teammate Irfan Pathan wished him well unknown from the fact that Rayudu has backed down. “Has played cricket with you since our U-19 days. Always admire your stroke and the energy you give on the pitch. Wish you luck on your journey forward brother. You have done very well and should be proud of your achievement @RayuduAmbati. ”

The 35-year-old made an impression when he played for the Mumbai Indians and then in the Chennai Superkings. Previously, he was among the cricketers who joined the rebellious Indian Cricket League in 2007 due to which he was not eligible to play the IPL. He then got to play the league where he made his debut for the Mumbai Indians in 2010. Throughout his IPL career, he accounted for 4,187 runs with an average of 30 where he made one hundred and 22 fifty.

He recently became the tenth Indian striker to reach the milestone of 4,000 runs in the Indian Premier League. Interestingly, Rayudu was not among the four players that CSK chose to keep when they went for MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Gaiwkad and Moeen. The four-time IPL winners, however, placed a successful bid of Rs 6.75 crore for the veterans to get him back.
