New Zealand vs Netherlands, 2nd ODI, live updates: Tom Latham-led New Zealand had a troubled start against the Netherlands in the second ODI on Saturday at Seddon Park, Hamilton. After choosing to bowl first, the visitors ran through the Kiwi top order. Fred Klaassen took over Martin Guptil in the fifth over for the script New Zealand’s strike collapse. No other batter like Henry Nicholls among the top four could score a double-digit goal.
Captain Latham got on his nerves when the hosts somehow passed the 100-run mark in 27.th over. At the same time he made his 17th ODI half-century when New Zealand scored 107 for 6 on 27 overs.
Previously, the hosts comfortably took the first ODI with seven wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Blair Tickner became the fourth Kiwi bowler to take four wickets on his ODI debut, limiting visitors to 202 in the first round. In the chase, Henry Nicholls brilliant 57 of 79 and Will Youngs undefeated 103 of 114 helped the team cross the border with more than 11 overs left.
The Black Caps will be keen to seal the series with another win in Hamilton, while the Dutch team expects some solid runs from their top order with an eye on leveling the series at 1-1.
