When Biplab Kumar Deb resigns as Prime Minister of Tripura on Saturday, Rajya Sabha’s MP Dr. Manik Saha to replace him for the post. Saha is also the head of BJP in the state.
Who is Dr Manik Saha?
Dr. Saha, Professor of Dental Surgery, joined the BJP 2016 from Congress. He was appointed state BJP president in 2018. Dr. Saha had been elected to the upper house in the two-year elections held earlier this year.
He will lead the BJP fight to keep the state in the by-elections scheduled for next year.
On Twitter, he said that the BJP’s top management gave me an opportunity to serve the people of the state of Tripura, for this I would like to thank and express my gratitude.
Union minister Bhupender Yadav and party general secretary Vinod Tawde were in Agartala as key observers.
“Many congratulations to Dr Manik Saha ji for being elected leader of the Tripura BJP Legislature Party. I am confident that Tripura will reach new heights of development under the leadership and leadership of the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji,” said Bhupender Yadav in a tweet.
Why did Biplab Kumar Deb resign?
Deb, who had taken the oath as the first prime minister of the Bharatiya Janata party in Tripura 2018, resigned from his post in the rapid political development of the state that will face opinion polls early next year.
Deb said after handing over his resignation to Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya that he had wholeheartedly served the people of the state.
He later took to Twitter to say that I thank the central leadership and the people of Tripura for giving me the responsibility to serve Tripura as Prime Minister. I have wholeheartedly served my state and will always work to improve my state. Tripura will definitely move forward in the path of development. Jai Hind “
Deb extended his wishes to Saha on his new role and said: “Congratulations and congratulations to Dr Manik Saha ji for being elected party leader of the Legislative Assembly. I believe that Tripura under Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s vision and leadership will flourish” , he said.
