Singapore President, Prime Minister mourn passing of Sheikh Khalifa

SINGAPORE CITY, May 14, 2022 (WAM) – Singapore President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have mourned the passing of the late His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

President Yacob said in his letter, “Like the other President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness built on the strong foundation laid by His Highness the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan to strengthen the unity of the United Arab Emirates and improve its development. Throughout his “His Highness was dedicated to serving the people of the United Arab Emirates and to creating prosperity for the country. His Highness will always be remembered for his love and care for the people.”

She added, “Our thoughts and prayers are for Your Highness and the people of the United Arab Emirates during this time of mourning.”

Prime Minister Lee wrote, “His Highness Sheikh Khalifa devoted his life to serving the people of Abu Dhabi as well as the United Arab Emirates. His Highness played a key role in strengthening the unity of the Federation and improving the lives of his people. with the establishment of the Singapore Embassy in Abu Dhabi in 2007. “

He added, “His Highness leadership laid a strong foundation for bilateral relations, which have since been raised with the Singapore-UAE Comprehensive Partnership (SUCP) signed in 2019.”
