US to face England, Spain meet Germany in FIFA World Cup 2022 group stage | Football News – Times of India

DOHA: The USA will face England and Iran in Group B in the World Cup finals while Spain will face Germany in a clash of previous winners in Group E.
Holders France face Denmark and Tunisia in Group D while the tournament starts on November 21 with hosts Qatar against Ecuador.

For the United States, the draw pits them against their former colonial rulers, England and the Iranians, a country with which they have had long-running political disputes.
The United States met Iran at the 1998 World Cup in France and lost 2-1 to the Yellow Nation.
Group G was one of the toughest and faced five-time World Cup winners Brazil against Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon.
The draw came after a 45-minute musical and video show when FIFA President Gianni Infantino promised that the event “would simply be the best tournament ever”.
The 2010 decision to hand over value rights to Qatar was heavily criticized and there has been intense scrutiny of the human rights situation in the country.
