Section 2: Who are the richest people in the insurance industry?

The American Insurance Industry
The American insurance industry is not just lucrative and profitable, it also looks after the economy’s insurable value. This is why the insurance companies ensure that they are out of debt at the end of every year.
Another reason why they have been running healthy businesses is that the American economy has been strong for decades. Thus, companies like Prudential Financial and Berkshire Hathaway are always on the lookout for businesses that may need some adjustments and adaptation, and this is what makes them such good insurers.
Vanguard and ICON
Two other companies that had the largest amounts of assets in 2019 were the behemoths of the investment industry. Vanguard is a financial holding company which manages assets worth some 2.3 trillion dollars.
Ranking of the top 6 richest insurance companies
The top three insurers in the United States in 2019 are Prudential Financial, Metlife and Berkshire Hathaway. Metlife was ranked first in terms of total assets for the tenth year in a row, with total assets worth around 854 billion U.S. dollars. Berkshire Hathaway followed behind in second place, with total assets worth around 845 billion U.S. dollars. The top six richest insurance companies in the United States in 2021 are:
Prudential Financial (854 billion U.S. dollars) Metlife (845 billion U.S. dollars) Berkshire Hathaway (845 billion U.S. dollars) Berkshire Hathaway (844 billion U.S. dollars) American International Group (834 billion U.S. dollars) State Farm (822 billion U.S.
Insurance companies are obviously very important entities within the U.S. economy, but in my opinion, it is extremely difficult to determine which company is the richest. Considering how important they are, I am going to analyze how some of the largest insurance companies in the U.S. have performed in the past.
I believe Prudential Financial is one of the most profitable insurance companies in the country and in 2018 its combined ratio was much better than that of many competitors. Prudential Financial is one of the largest insurance companies in the United States and has grown significantly in recent years, but I do not believe it is as profitable as some of its competitors such as Berkshire Hathaway or Metlife.
